Some of the comments point out symptoms are similar to nerve agent and, well, Tooele Army Depot *is* in northern Utah ...

It appears that the cause has been established as West Nile Virus.
The eagles were apparently infected by eating sick or dead eared grebes that migrate to the Great Salt Lake area.
The bad news? Eared grebes migrate from Utah to Arizona and Mexico beginning next week. Let's hope they have no effect on Arizona's baldy populations.

I'm not sure what my spirit animal is, but I'm confident it has rabies.

I wonder if the avian death rate will wane after a bit. There were a lot of bird deaths in NJ and NY when West Nile first showed up here in 1999, but not many since then, even though the virus has grown increasingly more widespread.

@friendofThundergod
I'm not a doctor and the Camelback Inn is not Holiday Inn, so I can't even pretend to be one. But I'd guess that 1-800 and anybody else out there with those symptoms would choose mpb over west nile anyway. At least you can live without hair! ;)
