I'd like to hear from you guys what this hike was like for you:
What physical condition were you in when you went?
How sore were you?
What time of the year did you go?
Was there any gear that you were glad you brought or gear that you wish you brought?
Any other tips would be appreciated!!!

oh my! so incredible!
For me, sometimes it's just as much about the journey as the destination.
Oh, and once in awhile, don't forget to look back at the trail you've traveled.

Exceptional rain on Monday caused the flooding deaths in Hildale/Colorado City, and in Zion. Good to see it wasn't too bad in Supai.

Re: Havasu Canyon - Prep, Gear & Tips
I've been down there several times, but never during a rain event/flood. However, as I hiked down the trail to Supai, it seemed that, for most of the trail, there were pretty good options of getting to reasonably high ground in the event of a flash flood. Down below Supai and at the campground in particular seemed to be the most sketchy areas in that regard. I'm not advocating for taking chances in hiking down to Supai when there's a risk of flooding, but am curious whether others have had trouble getting to high ground when there is flooding between the Hilltop and the convergence of Hualapai and Cataract Canyons (i.e. where you first meet up with Havasu Creek a mile or two before the village).

Wow - not ideal. I was there October 1st two years ago and it was perfect ... guess it's a crapshoot.

Re: Havasu Canyon - Prep, Gear & Tips
I guess I missed all the fun! I was there last week, Tues-Thurs (Sept 8-10) and we had great weather and a good time. But it sure was damp underfoot. I think there had been a recent flood.

Thanks that's the info I was looking for. I saw some more pictures and videos on instagram that looked severe and i read that some people were stranded down stream overnight and some were even helicoptered out in tje last 2 days. I guess I'll keep a close eye on things for next week.
