Eyes of the Superstitions

Post by kevinweitzel75 »

I am currently reading a "fictional" book called Eyes of the Superstitions by Kaye Kizziar. I was wondering how many HAZ members have experienced any strange or unexplainable experiences while hiking in the Supes.

I saw a herd of cattle once, and a handful of functioning tanks. I checked with the rangers, who said that it wasn't a legal setup. They carefully avoided asking me for any details (which I thought was odd), so I didn't give them any.

Think very very big 's.
A good viewing spot is at Arizona Farms Rd. and the highway to Florence. You can tell when they are using artillery by the red sock flags they fly on the east side of the road. I used to work down that way and saw the plumes of smoke, so sat there and watched for awhile. The concusions from the explosions were awsome!

I finished the book. Ummm, aliens in the Supes? :sl: I think ghosts are more beliveable.

Ahh, I always wondered what that flag was for. I couldn't see any obvious landing strip or helipad nearby.

I believe the same is true on the Federal Trust land out by Hewlett Station Rd.-- I hear they do some artillery training out there as well.

I had a friend who went backpacking with me a couple times who was scared to death of aliens. I could talk about mountain lions and black bears all night and he wouldn't flinch, but as soon as aliens were even mentioned (I made sure the topic came up at least once every trip), he would start freaking out and tell me to shut up. I wonder if he had bad memories or something? :-k

The Supes are a UFO portal, didn't you all know?

After reading all the crazy stuff about this area, I'm developing a complex about hiking there again... :D

It started off interesting enough, but got really... weird about 2/3 the way through. Aliens kidnapping people and giving them powers to help mankind. Not really my thing, but an interesting theory to all the unexplained disappearences in the Supes. All the action took place in the Perellta area up to Fish Creek and Music Mountain, Tortilla TH, Angel Basin, pretty much that entire area. I would much rather belive in Native American spirits or something. Even Big Foot would be cool. Speaking of Big Foot, notice that will all the high tech cameras and things now a days, there are a lot less sightings captured on film? Umm.
I don't know. There are a lot of strange lights over the Valley area and still sightings of UFO's. Watched the movie The Fourth Kind over the weekend. I guess someday we will know the truth, or maybe not. You will have to excuse the rambling, just a million thoughts all at once. Thats what the heat does to me, too much time on the roof today.
