Camping Spots on #11 - Santa Catalina Mountains?

Post by garyc57 »

In late October, I will be hiking from Marshall Gulch TH down to the Gordon Hirabayashi TH - about 18 miles. I'm looking for a campsite near the halfway point - any suggestions?

I've read that some hikers camp at Hutch's Pool, but that's 2-3 miles past the mid-way point. And I worry about weekend parties ruining my beauty sleep. :-$ Is that a valid concern? Or, just avoid Friday/Saturdays?

A lat/long or trail milepost would be appreciated.

Thanks for your time and help,
Gary

Cathedral Rock junction is about half-way, very nice camping and a good chance of water a little upstream from the junction.
