Trip Help - 5 days hiking Sedona or ?

Post by blueswallow1 »

Hi
So happy to have found this great forum!
Planning a first time trip, early April, starting in Phoenix with some days at the Grand Canyon.
Have 5 full days for hiking before going to the GC, and looking for suggestions. Was planning on Sedona area, but open to other options.
Would especially enjoy a "moderate" backpack, or ideas on where I could find a "quiet" place to camp.
Will have rental vehicle, with not great clearance.
Thanks very much! kathy

Sedona has good hiking accessible from paved roads. Not sure you will find much backpacking in the area with only rental vehicle access. There's also good hiking in the Flagstaff area. Maybe do a few days in each city?
