Closure of the Bill Williams Mountain watershed area begins today. This will affect access to Bill Williams Mountain Trail, the Benham Trail (my favorite), plus Bixler Trail and a few others. This closure is put in place almost every year about this time. See Kaibab NF website.
I've lived in Williams, and have seen how many of the streets in town become flooded with only a normal thunderstorm on the mountain. A fire would be devastating.
I've been very busy and didn't do my usual late spring hike on the Benham Trail. Now I'll have to wait until after the rains begin.

Re: Bill Williams Mountain closure
How long does the closure typically last? I've been thinking about doing this, so I am glad you posted!

@nikorock28
Until the rainy season sets in, and things are fairly damp. They may use some sort of moisture content measurement, I'm not sure.
I have a bet with @Jim_H that both the Kaibab and the Coke NFs will be shut down within a week from now. I hope I'm wrong. (He has a bet that the Bighorn Fire will overrun Mt. Lemmon. We shall see...)

@azbackpackr
Thanks for the info! With his self professed bad luck, @Jim_H should not be making any bets! Did I link him correctly? Haha.
