My goal is to get Tortoise_Hiker to hike with me, more that the 2 times he did in 2020.

I would like to explore some of the peaks in SE Arizona. Might go to other places, too. If I can, I want to visit Nevada, but we shall see. I don't know if I will be in Tucson at the end of 2021, or not, but I will try to make the most of it. A year goes fast, this I know. I sold my house and left the Valley, so hopefully that ends up being a smart long term financial choice in the same manner as it was a short term one.
I do want to get above 11,000', at least once, in 2021. You can't do that in SE Arizona.

Started 2020 meeting a few new-to-me HAZ members out of appreciation on Pam's New Years' hike. I'm not a social butterfly but enjoyed the group hike.
Posted several needed HAZ Guides. Up for grabs, in my range, were trails near Dewey-Humboldt. Along with some Skyline Park hikes, all netted more positives than anticipated. Rediscovered how much I enjoy researching, etc.
[ Sitgreaves Mountain ] with Bruce and Denny was great. I've avoided that mountain several times in favor of nearby favorites.
An unexpected hint of Autumn at
Juniper Mesa with Ray was a thrill, only to be knocked out of the ballpark by storybook oak foliage on the
Gaddes Mingus segment with Bruce.
Pandemic among other challenges hit hard, enough said.
2021
Look forward to intriguing-to-stellar hikes that lie ahead.

Hopefully get back in the groove next year. Had my second highest mileage year on HAZ since I joined in 2012, but didn't do any epic big hikes or runs.
Covid threw a curveball into my annual Grand Canyon trek, so the first year in a while I never hiked it. With one of my son's at NAU I can combine a visit with him along with a hike or run now. But every time I tried to schedule a day or two in Flagstaff, NAU would send all their students home. My goal is to get in a spring hike/run and another one in the fall with my hiking partners from Idaho in 2021.
Then attempt to win the lottery for another attempt on Mt Whitney. Got shut out of that hike due to the fires in September.

Happy New Year! One of my goals is to actually start posting my hikes on this site.

I love looking at everyone's photos and triplogs, so I should put mine here too. My parents and I explored a bunch this year despite the virus. We went to quite a few new places. I would really like to do an overnight backpacking trip. I've never done it. I think a cool one would be to the ruins in sycamore canyon. I hope you all have an adventurous, happy and healthy hiking year!

2020 ended up being a pretty good hiking year for me, and hopefully 2021 brings more of the same.
My mileage last year (1500 hiking/300 treadmill) was a little on the low side, so I’m hoping to get the combined total up from 1800 to at least 2000 this year. That should be reasonably achieveable, I just have to actually try.
Hoping to continue hiking new peaks in a variety of states; that was fun last year. Definitely more Idaho, Nevada, and Utah hikes. Will probably throw in some Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, and South Dakota too, and maybe even some Tennessee if the timing is right.
I always try to post one new guide a month on HAZ, although I’m inconsistent at best. Again, if I put more effort into it, I should easily be able to do one a month.
Hoping to meet and hike with at least a few new hiking partners this year, along with continuing to hike with current hiking partners.

Go somewhere. Appreciate what I have, try to tamp down the inner complaining voice. Loose some of the weight I've gained, but my home exercise program is keeping me in pretty good shape. Stat bike = good thigh muscles. Continue my local hiking successes while still getting some of that exploration type of feeling. Get a better handle on what retirement will bring; this first year has been pretty rough in some aspects. Finally commit to the photo book project. Maybe. Less procrastinating.

@AdventureFridays This overnight backpack included those ruins FYI, maybe give you some ideas. The road is horrendous and to see the ruins it does not require backpacking, so you might have to get creative in your planning, also safe to say a lack of water may be an issue for backpacking this year, unless we get some rain.

That looks like a great option. I was thinking of starting from the Parsons trailhead. I haven't really explored the northern part of the canyon, so this I will look into more. Thank you! I like your pack of dogs. Man, I sure hope we get some rain!
