I'm a side sleeper & turn from side to side all night long. My Sleeping bag is a Western Mountaineering Antelope with Gore Windstopper outer fabric. XTherm is my inflatable air mattress at this time. Historically no matter which sleeping bag I have or what inflatable air mattress I've had, I seem to slip off to one side or the other all night long.
Yes, I've learned to inflate just enough to keep me off the ground, ie, I'm no longer fully inflating my air mattress.
A week ago I bought some shelf liner, an 8' roll that is 18" wide. I cut a 3.5' length & put it between my air mattress & my sleeping bag. It works! BIG TIME! I no longer slide off my air mattress. I cut a 6" wide strip from the remaining 4' section & put that between my tent floor & the bottom of my XTherm. My XTherm no longer slides around on the floor of my tent if the ground isn't level.

@BubbaJuice
I suspect there are numerous others waiting for their order of Shelf Liner to arrive B4 they reply/comment. It's an unbelievably easy/inexpensive way to fix a problem we all experience most every time we put a sleeping bag on top of an inflatable air mattress.
Please come back & say something AFTER you've personally tried out the Shelf Liner method.

Have you tried finding a level spot for your tent?

Always, Always, Always More often than not, the ground is slightly sloped & I find myself in the middle of the night having slipped off my inflated air mattress again.....same as most everyone, I think.

After a hard day of backpacking I would take a muscle relaxing pill and I was out for the night.

Re: STOP Sliding OFF your Inflated Air Mattress
I use a quilt and sleep right on the pad. I've never slid off. That's after I'd guess, close to 200 nights. I used to use a silnylon tent. The pad slid all over the tent's floor even after streaking silicon seam sealer on it so I know that sliding around is annoying. I'm sure the shelf liner weighs very little, but it's one more thing to deal with and I like to keep things fairly minimal. Not a bad suggestion though.

I wish there was a way to add my photo that shows my XTherm & Sleeping bag on top of the slider board of my Total Gym at a 30º angle. The XTherm & air mattress stay put thanks to small sections of Shelf liner between the gear & slider board. The shelf liner weighs 4oz.
I actually have some SilNylon seam sealer that I was going to streak onto the tent floor & on the top surface of my XTherm, but could never bring myself to put the Seam Sealer on for several reasons.

Re: STOP Sliding OFF your Inflated Air Mattress
Couple of times I thought I sailed the seven seas rolling about. Learned long ago to place a liner between the pad and floor of the tent.
