Little ditty about the 20 year memorial ceremony of the town of Cave Creek helping to purchase the SCRCA. The gabion and welded logo structure is also a time capsule. Council member Paul Diefenderfer, (in the tie dye shirt), thru hiked the GC from east to west under the rim. He gave us a slide show of the expedition...real Colin Fletcher level stuff.

Nice! Dief is a bit of a local legend in climbing circles too. I believe he even owned one of the early climbing gyms in the area, back when I used to go there in the early 2000's.
