MotherLode Restrictions
Don't know if this has anything to do with it, but it appears the amethyst mine has newish owners. Got some suggestions to follow a business on social media and the Four Peaks Amethyst Company has started hitting my feeds for some reason. They have also started running tours of the mine via helicopter. For $500 you get a ride to the mine and a goody bag to take home.

@SpiderLegs
They've been doing the helicopter tours for over 12 years at least. Four Peaks Mining Co. has owned it since 1998. Not sure if it has recently changed hands.

@SpiderLegs Clearly Mark, Jack, Elon, or whoever else is doing the things these days obviously want you to go on the tour. Let us know how it is.

@chumley - I've been there once, no need to see it again.

Re: MotherLode Restrictions
It’s wilderness. Therefore shouldn’t be allowed

Re: MotherLode Restrictions
It's okay, much like the delineated areas for AZ Snowbowl and the Waterline Rd into the Inner Basin, they fly an invisible tunnel of non-wilderness surrounded by the "true wilderness", thereby preserving the "spirit" of wilderness.
