MIT's high-tech 'bubble wrap' turns air into safe drinking water — even in Death Valley

Think of how this might change hiking. No longer needing water filters or treatments, no need to search for springs, no need to haul gallons of water through the desert. It will be so cool, too bad I'm old and won't live to see it.

Re: Water from air!
I think you'll still need to haul gallons of water through the desert if it produced a, "quarter to two-thirds of a cup of water every day". They didn't say what the dewpoint was, but is it typically very high in the desert outside of the monsoon?
Maybe as a coastal source of drinking water in isolated resorts or someplace without a large fresh water source?

@Jim
Party pooper. Give it time, the first automobiles weren't a '68 Pontiac GTO, but they eventually got it right.
BTW source article provides data, so have at it
This will allow me to finally build that moisture farm on Tatooine, which I will then sell to Owen Lars for a tidy profit... the rest, as they say, is history.
