Post by mrinalini »

Hello!
Would you recommed visiting Havasu Falls during the month of Febraury? I am planning on a visit on President's Day weekend, but am not sure if that is a good time to visit.

never been there but I'm planning on going this spring. I hear that weather wise spring and fall is best. I think you might be better off holding off until March or April if you can.

Some of the big attractions of Havasu are the swimming holes. February might be a bit chilly for swimming, but on the flip side, it would be cooler hiking out. The crowds should be a little lighter than, say, Memorial Day, too.
I'd recommend two nights at the campground, with a dayhike (+/- 12 mi. R/T) to the Colorado River on the layover day.

Either way, remember to stop in downtown (?) Seligman @ DelGadillo's Sno-Cap. It is not to be missed.... an Arizona icon.

In response to mrinalini's reply:
I have a list of average temperatures for that area: It's a high of 60 and a low of 32 in Feb. Dec. and Jan. are the coldest with high's of 52 andd low's of 27. May actually looks like the ideal time to be there, with high's of 86 and low's of 50.
