Phoenix - where do you go in the summer?

Post by fricknaley »

I'm relatively new to Arizona (from midwest). When it heats up in the summer here in Tucson I go into the Catalinas, Santa Ritas, Huachucas, Pinalenos and Chiricahuas to escape the heat.

Where do you folks in Phoenix go? Just curious as I may end up there in a couple years.

We head anywhere north! Mostly Flagstaff, Mogollon Rim (north of Payson), Apache Sitgreaves....anywhere the elevation is over 6,000 feet.

yeah, most people head north, but if you want to avoid swarms of kooks and kids... stay down south. Some of the BEST hikes I made recently were in the lower half of AZ. the rim is played out for this player
