HIGHLINE TRAIL BACKPACK - Washington Park T/H to Pine T/H.

Saturday/Sunday, Oct 15 - 16

Leader: Steve Desrochers

(luv2hikeinaz@cox.net)
Length: +/- 17 miles

Phone: 480-926-7939

Rating: Moderate

Meeting time and place TBD. Some of us will car camp in Pine Friday night.
Please contact Steve D. by October 12th, 2005 if planning to participate.

We will utilize a shuttle on this trip to avoid backtracking.
After placing a few vehicles at the take out end, we will drive to the put in end. Our journey will take us along a historic trail that was established in the late 1800’s and used to link various homesteads and ranches under the Mogollon Rim. We will encounter spectacular views, some exposure, and maybe some critters along the way.
October weather should be great. Highs mid 70s / lows mid 30s are anticipated.
Water is reliable at several springs and creeks along the way.

Whirlwind trip, Tonto and Horton Creek. Lot of moonlight last night got in with a bunch of cow elk walking in pretty much of a single line. Was planning on the Verde Valley trip but some folks canceled and had to get another trip in the woods.
