Meet Friday Night in Pine or Saturday morning at Washington Park T/H
Hike is +/- 16 miles
Moderate to Difficult
Hike the Historic Highline Trail from Washington Park through the 1990 “Dude Fire” burn area (Zane Grey’s cabin was consumed in this fire) to the Tonto Fish Hatchery.
Day Hike #2 – Pine Canyon
Sunday – November 6, 2005
Hike is +/- 8 miles
Moderate
From the Rim, this trail offers beautiful views followed by a cool hike along Pine Creek and past Dripping Springs before ending near Pine Trailhead.
As this hike is on Sunday, the day of rest, this hike will be all downhill.
Some will car camp Friday and Saturday nights before and after the hike. I, Steve, plan on dining and playing horseshoes several times at the Rimside Grill in Pine, http://www.rimsidegrill.com/, which is owned and operated by two long-time friends, Steve and Tamara Morken.
We will hike Pine Canyon on Sunday morning.
We will then lunch, throw more shoes, then return to the Valley.
