North Carolina

Post by kylemorgan »

My wife and I are talking about moving to North Carolina in about a year (although it could be more like 5) and I was wondering if anybody knew of any sites like this one for that area.

I have to say that this is the most kick awesome hiking site I've seen and we are darn lucky to have something this cool to plan with.

In response to kylemorgan's reply:

If you're going to be anywhere near the Appalachian Trail, http://www.whiteblaze.net is by far the most active community of hikers I've ever seen on one website. It deals with the Appalachian Trail as a whole, but devotes sections to each state along the Trail as well. Given that the trail shadows the North Carolina/Tennessee border for close to 400 miles and includes some of the most scenic land in the surrounding states (Great Smoky Mountain National Park, Roan Mountain/Highlands, Big Bald, others), I don't think you'll have much of an issue finding hiking information.
