PIESTEWA SUMMIT TRAIL CLOSURES SCHEDULED FOR IMPROVEMENTS

A trail crew will be making improvements this spring to the city’s most popular hiking trail. Beginning April 17, a trail crew will begin improving and repairing sections of the Summit Trail on Piestewa Peak. Work will be confined to the upper portion of the trail from the .6-mile marker to the summit.
To accommodate the work, the upper portion of the trail from the .6-mile marker to the summit will be closed for eight-hour periods on select weekdays in April and May. Trail work and closures are scheduled from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. from April 17-19, April 24-28, May 1-3 and May 8-11.
During trail work hours, the Summit Trail will remain open from the base to the .6-mile mark.
