Taking a rookie

Hello all
I am new here and joined simply because I need advice for one trip. I am currently planning a trip to Arizona over Spring Break (March) to do some backpacking. I was going to do the North Rim, but it is apparently closed that time of year. Can someone give me some suggestions as to what is a great place to hike? I am very experienced so I can take just about anything dished out but I am taking a rookie, who has never done it before. I need trails that provide spectacular views, but are also relatively easy going and where water is easily accessible. Can someone please help? I greatly appreciate it.
