South Rim action
Hey, if any of you are going to be at the South Rim this week, between Tuesday and Thursday, drop by and say howdy. I'll be tracking the birds, probably mainly between El Tovar and Lookout Studio, but also out at Hopi and Maricopa Points as well.

Re: South Rim action

I love slots but am with my wife and 15 yo daughter so my hikes have to be relatively short. Have any advice besides Antelope for slots or narrows? Wirepass? Wouldn't mind taking a guide one day, staying 3 nights. June 21, 22, 23. ANy advice/ help? rafting June 22 in am. Thanks

Re: South Rim action
Wire Pass is nice. Waterholes is a good, relatively easy slot to do as well, right out side of Page. Easy hike (not even a dayhike) is Horseshoe Bend. Combine that with Waterholes and a tour of dam, that's a nice family-friendly day. Wire Pass is about an hour and a half away from Page, but is really nice. You can see Navajo Bridge (and maybe some condors) along the way, as well as stopping by Lee's Ferry, see all the GC trips putting in. Cathedral Wash is another slot you could pop into if you're down in that area.
Since this thread's back up at the top, I'll mention that if anyone's going to be at the South Rim this next week (Wed-Fri), I'm going to be back down there again. Our SR guy's schedule has changed, so I'll probably be down there at least once a month now for the foreseeable future.

Re: South Rim action
I'm headed to the SR, hiking down the BA to join a private river trip on Friday (I know, poor, poor, pitiful me). Likely start down about 7AM. Maybe I'll see ya there if you're up-and-out by then.....PageRob wrote:......................................................Since this thread's back up at the top, I'll mention that if anyone's going to be at the South Rim this next week (Wed-Fri), I'm going to be back down there again.
