Memorial Day Weekend Weather Alert

As some of you may know, the forecast for this weekend appears to feature a very unseasonable storm.

I typically enjoy such events, and plan to this time as well, but I'm posting this for those who don't follow weather forecasts as much as I do because if you are planning on doing something outdoors this weekend and you are unprepared for this, it has the potential to be dangerous.

While it's still early, right now the forecast is calling for as much as 3 inches of rain in some mountain spots and along the Mogollon Rim. It should be very cold, with snow levels falling as low as 6500 feet. Accumulating snow of more than 12 inches is probable above 8000 feet. Very high winds and strong thunderstorms are also probable.

So, if you're planning on heading out this weekend, please take the time to check your local weather forecast and make sure you're prepared for the conditions that might occur. (Of course you should always do this, but ...)

looks to me like most of the action's going to be on friday, probably friday morning, based on the reports. course, they could all change greatly before then ;)
