Explore Arizona(new PHX outdoor store opens)

Post by Grasshopper »

Now OPEN FOR BUSINESS in central Phoenix: EXPLORE ARIZONA
(explorearizona.org)

"Our new book/map store and outdoor information center, developed in partnership with the Bureau of Land Management, is now open in downtown Phoenix. The center is still under construction, but we wanted to meet our customer's needs as soon as we can.

"Explore Arizona" is a one-stop shop for federal and state materials and publications on recreation, natural history, natural resources, and environment, with an emphasis on Arizona's public lands.

The center is on the ground floor of the Phelps-Dodge Tower at One North Central in Phoenix. We validate parking in the P-D Tower garage. Hours are 9am-6pm M-F.

Explore Arizona! is operated by the Arizona Geological Survey—Arizona’s Earth science agency— in partnership with the U.S. Bureau of Land Management.

Our chief goal is to provide Arizonan’s and their guests with information on Arizona’s public lands.

For recreationists, we carry a broad suite of titles on hiking, natural history, OHV’s, rockhounding, camping, and more. And in the way of maps, we sell the US Geological Survey’s 7.5 minute and 1:100,000-scale maps. We are Arizona’s sole source for BLM’s Custom 1:24,000 and1:100,000 map series..

They've got a nice selection of books & maps. I ordered a USGS topo, and it showed up the next day at the store.
Plus, it's next to the Duck & Decanter!
