well here is my proposed hike for a hike across the superstitions in early 2010.
Peralta to Haunted Canyon. Peralta to Angel Basin, up Frog Tanks to Reavis, from Reavis down to West Pinto, take West Pinto all the way to Bull Basin or Paradise Trail, Bull basin or paradise trail to Haunted Canyon, finishing it up on the Haunted Canyon Trail. Looking at a weekend in early January.
Join the fun.

having never hiked in the supes, what's the commitment level? I'm coming off duty that Wednesday, and as such have myself a nice long weekend to play with

I don't know how my schedule will crumble. December would be much better for me, or early March, but I'll stay tuned and see how it goes. There are parts of that route I haven't seen yet.

Re: start 2010 with a bang... (trans-supes)
Right now it will tentatively be the weekend of January 8th. This could be a three day or four day trip depending on the pace we want to set. I'm thinking we could make it easily to Angel Basin the first day at 15 miles in, and that would put us at prime position to finish in three days, I know its difficult for some to take 2 days off work.
What days in december would you prefer? Im setting it up for January because we all know how busy christmas time is, so this would be after both the big holidays. But I'm off starting December 14th, and going to almost the end of January, so the dates can change, we will see what the majority of people insist on.

The last two weeks of December work well for me, but don't move it on my account. I'll just keep watching this thread.

I wont be able to lead this one now.
Any big hikes for me over winter break will be taking place either in the Painted Desert or the Grand Canyon, anyone interested in any of those let me know.
