I haven't been there in years, but once a summer for several years after I first moved to Arizona, I went camping at Hospital Flats. It was usually around the middle of August, but was pretty cold at night. There's a trail that heads out the back of the campground, along the creek and eventually leads you to a rather nice waterfall on the side of the mountain overlooking Fort Grant.

I need to get back down there!

I haven't been there since they closed off the peak and built their telescopes. During wildflower season it used to be like going through fairyland or something. Last time I went up they had gates keeping out "tresspassers".

Grrr! :verymad:
