GC permit process--they have billed my account!

Post by azbackpackr »

I put in for an October permit on June 1, and noticed this morning it has posted to my bank account!! So that means I am getting a permit! Of course, I won't know the exact route or dates until it comes in the mail. I put in for Boucher-Hermit for mid October, but I also gave several other options and dates, in order to have a better chance of receiving something. I have not done Boucher before.

I've never done Boucher either, but I've only heard great things about it. :D

I've had sporting venues that were having a lottery for tickets charge everyone's account then credit those that are not selected months later. I hope this is not the case with your permit. Just seems wrong when these events hold your money and earn interest in this manner.

BCO doesn't run your card unless they are issuing a permit. It is an up close and personal sort of office, where you can call them and they will take a look at what you faxed them, in fact. I had to do that this time because I had forgotten to indicate how many people.

Nice. Sounds like a blast. :y:

I wonder which of the three hikes I put in for I actually will get? Hope it is Boucher, of course. Other choices were Monument/Granite Rapids, and that Tonto loop from Hermit to BA that I've done before, although in the opposite direction. I needed a short trip, so didn't put in for N. Rim, just put in for 3 night trips. Thought about doing New Hance-Tonto-Grandview again, too. I like to cover new ground, though.
