Wilderness First Aid class, March 26,27

Post by mikenbetts »

Central Arizona Mountain Rescue Association will be conducting our next 2-day Wilderness First Aid (WFA) certification course on March 26,27 (Saturday / Sunday), 2011.

HAZ folks who attended our January WFA, at the North Mountain Visitor Center, were focused, engaged and a real pleasure to work with. About 2/3 of the class was HAZ!

This two day/16 hour certification course provides classroom and hands-on instruction on how to prevent and respond to medical situations while in the backcountry. If you venture into the backcountry, you are the first responder and your response to a medical situation can truly make the difference between life and death.

Class size is limited to 26 students to provide a beneficial student/instructor ratio.

For more information and registration instructions, check out our website at http://www.mountainrescue.org/solo.html or the attached flyer.

Is the March class also at the North Mountain Visitor's Center on 7th St?

I could get my hike in by walking over there for the class.

I'd just like to encourage anyone considering this to go ahead and sign up for it. Myself and several others from HAZ took the course in January. Here is a brief description of our experience and what was covered:

As stated in the triplog, "if you're consistently in the outdoors, this information could very well save your life or the life of another." I'd recommend this course to anyone.
