Back up plan

Post by krispykritter »

If the goverment shuts down and I cant cant to the Grand Canyon on the 28th :( , I need a second option. Any sugestions for a 3 day loop backpacking trip. 10 miles a day or less. I was thinking Sedona area or where ever. Some place spectacular.

Sedona does not seem to have very many LONG backpacking trips, and you are never far from the population area there. Some nice overnighters can be had, though. I don't know the area well, but Secret Canyon and Loy Canyon/Secret Mountain are nice areas which I have dayhiked, and there were a few backpacker campsites along the way. And VERY scenic!
