Re: Chuska Mountains?
I just keep thinking, "Damnit Jim, why didn't you move up there before I left!?!"

Re: Chuska Mountains?
This sounds interesting, depending on when! How far is it, in Window Rock area?

Single-income household, and I just had to take a pay cut, so probably not as easy as it sounds. I would love to do this trip though.Jim_H wrote:Yeah, I know, but you can still come up.

Re: Chuska Mountains?
I got to say, it's going to get cold, really cold (for this early) and the high will only be in the 30s (with wind) and the low in the low teens, next weekend at this early forecast date. I wonder, would anyone be interested in a Mount Kimball Hike at a similar time. In Tucson, of course!
Either the 5th or 6th, depending on feedback and when I can get down there. I'll likely stay at Catalina SP.

Re: Kimball, Tucson.
Let me know when your plans firm up for date\time. I have a conference all weekend but it's in town so I could probably ditch a morning and go...

Re: Kimball, Tucson.
I was hoping for warmer weather in general, and while I also wanted to get away from here and go somewhere that is not Flagstaff and was lower and therefore much warmer, the forecasts are talking about wind, much colder temps, and precip (in most places) next weekend. I'll see how things turn out, and I suppose there can be a warm up with mild sunny temps 2 weeks from the 5th, and therefore I can head down there. Right now, I want to wait and see. If I do come down from Friday PM to Monday AM, I'll decide when forecasts firm up later in the week.
If you want, I'll PM you to inform you of my plans.
Chuska Mt are definitely out at this point, either way.
I'm not looking forward to winter. Pretty much want it to stay away.
