My trail partner for the past 30-odd years has hung up the boots and I'm looking for one or two male replacement(s) for same. I'm 66, in relatively good health, an early-riser & non-smoker, live in northwest Phoenix, and prefer dayhiking in AZ up to about 10 miles (maybe more later) Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, if possible. I have nearly 40 years backcountry experience in AZ, will share expenses, transportation, driving, and the pleasures of hiking where the crowds aren't. Trailbear, welcome to the site. There's a fellow on the site that goes by the handle of evenstarx3 (as well as many other things). He fits your bill. He'll be around next week after the holiday. A lot of us have picked him as the site whipping boy, but he dishes it out harder than we can for the most part. I'd say contact him and see what his schedule is. He's probably tired of hanging out with me anyway, after dragging him out for sixteen miles last weekend to see the Indian ruins in Sycamore Canyon.
