Well, have fun. I encourage you to consider a Mountaineer's Route summit. It's very doable, and with this winter's sad precipitation totals, you're guaranteed a dry and relatively safe trip.

If you're there for more than a few days, don't just have Whitney Blinders. I recommend a visit to the Meysan Lakes Basin, if nothing else. That is a very nice alpine basin with low visitation. Also, it's right next door to Whitney.

If I remember correctly the Mountaineers Route on Whitney is only slightly more difficult than the flatiron, correct? :sl: Sorry. I had to. Thinking of Mt. Whitney made me remember that thread.

Congratulations! Whitney and the surrounding area is very cool. My brother and I did a loop, bagging Mt. Langley on the way to Whitney's back side a few years back. At the time I wasn't posting trips outside AZ, but I hope to catch up and have a triplog and pictures up in the next week or so.
The past, the present, and the future walked into a bar.
It was tense.
