Trail down the Pass Mountain Ridgeline

Jane and I hiked the Pass Mountain Ridgeline yesterday, but we definitely got 'off route' coming off the ridgeline. After carefully checking over my topographical map, and rereading the description in the summary I still can not figure out the 'proper' way to come down the ridgeline. We gave up finding the proper way down and just came down the East side at the very end of the Northern ridgeline. We reconnected with the Pass Mountain Trail Loop about 2/3 of the way around the loop.

Anyone know the proper location of the trail off the ridgeline? All we could find was a vertical cliff that runs most of the Western side of the Mountain (visually this looks true from below the mountain also). We would be highly interested in doing the hike again if we could just find the proper route.
