Hello HikeAZ Friends,
We all know that Spring and Fall are the best times to hike the Canyon, but what if you forgot to apply for permits way back in the winter? Well you're in luck (or I'm out of luck)! I have a permit for 7 people at Bright Angel Campground (bottom of the Canyon) that my group can't use due to unforeseen circumstances. Well I know this isn't Ebay, but I couldn't think of a better group of people to offer up first dibs on these permits.
This permit is for a total of seven (7) people for one night at Bright Angel Campground on Saturday April 6. It's only three weeks away and the weather couldn't be better. I won't go into detail on the campground or the hike as many others here have posted excellent articles, but suffice to say...this is one of those 'must do's' for every hiker.
With that being said, I'll just open up a 'first come, first serve' policy for whoever is interested. Just send me an email via my profile and we can exchange details. Enjoy!

Is the permit transferrable?
Gee, thanks for thinking of the great people on this list. April 6th is just about as primetime as one could possibly get! 8O
My primary question is: Is the permit transferrable? The GCNP is notorius for arcane policies about their various permits, etc. Have you double checked on that issue?
Also, Did you have to pay the $10 permit fee in advance plus the $35 for the 7 people? Or is it due and payable at the BC Office there? You may wish to post the answers back on this thread so that others will know, too.

Permits are gone
Well folks, the permits have been spoken for.
As for your questions Montezuma, I'm not sure what the policy is on transfering permits. I figure it can't be a big deal, it's the same number of people going regardless.
As for the costs, you are right. It's a $10 application fee and then $5 per person per night. Costs are detailed on the actual application form which you can download here:
