Boot laces
Replaced boot laces and the new ones do not seem to remain tied. Pant cuffs and brush against brush unties them. Another reason to wear gaiters ?

@Nighthiker What material are the laces? Of all the shoes and boots I've worn some kinds of lace wouldn't stay tight if I glued them.
Even with a lot of bushwhacking my long pants cover the laces enough that I don't get all kinds of debris in them. If anything rubs against them it's my pants.
After trying three different kind/brand of gaiters and not liking them much, I made my own open-back leather chaps. They have a strap & snap at the bottom that hooks through the lowest lace in my boots to keep them on straight, which keeps the thick and thorny stuff away from the laces.

I neglected to mention earlier the best laces I've used so far are Danner laces ($5.99 @Sportsman's Warehouse) which are described as: Separate inner core with woven nylon exterior for strength. Melted lace ends won't fray.
