You think they wasted money putting equipment and supplies in that ridiculous and useless thing, or is it purely a prop, as I suspect it is?

I hate to sound incredibly selfish, but I had planned to summit Humphreys Saturday AM spending the night in Lockett Meadow Friday night to 'acclimate'. Would the presence of Trail Days make it less likely that I will get one of the 14.00 campsites, and conversely, as I am frugal to the extreme, are there some other non-pay campsites that I could park at the Lockett Meadow TH and walk to? Can you park overnight there if you aren't staying there? #andyesgoogleismyfriend

About a 1/2 mi. before you get to Lockett Meadow, there is a sign that says no camping beyond the sign other than in the designated camping areas at the campground. Last weekend, there were several folks that set up camp off the road, just before this sign. There are no facilities, so it's dispersed camping, but I guess that could be a fall back, if the designated sites are full.

When I visited Kendrick Peak and the Abineau-Bear Jaw Loop, I was struck by the capacity for camping in that area. I've been down some of those roads before, but never so many in the same couple days. There's a lot of camping available within a short ride from there.

Yeah when I did Kendrick, I saw them too... If we were going in via the Snowbowl side, I would totally use those, but I wanted to do the whole enchilada from Lockett Meadow to Humphrey's summit via Inner Basin...

I guess we could camp there and drive over to the Lockett Meadow TH...
