Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty & well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, totally worn out & proclaiming, "Wow What a Ride!"

Re: Canyoneering fatality in Not Imlay Canyon
The Problem appeared to be that they trusted the Beta a little too much and also didn't Account for Possible Rope Shrinkage....On a Two Stage Rappel with the 1st Stage listed as 100 Feet to a Ledge for the next Anchor, they threw down a 200 Foot Rope and Double Strand Rappelled it. The Rope was 8 Feet too Short. Louis called up and told them about the Problem and they were discussing it and then something happened and they heard him Fall. They couldn't see him when he was On Rope, so they are not sure if he slipped off the End of the Rope by Accident, or was trying to Slip off the Rope on Purpose and Land on the Ledge, but ended up falling off of that Ledge after he initially Landed. These Details were from an Account of two of the People in the Party.....
