I am a very fit 62 yr old lady living in Perth, Western Australia. I visit the US twice/year (have family in MA) and plan to visit Phoenix 1 May - 19 May for the express purpose of doing lots of hiking and backpacking. I have never visited this area before and would love to find people willing to show me around. Any advice re accommodation and car hire would also be greatly appreciated.
Hope to get lots of responses. GTG told me that this is a great site!!
Cheers from down under.
PS I have hiked and backpacked extensively in Canada, US and Australia.

Hey Skippy! You might get one or two from here that will be interested in doing the overnight backpacking. We can probably handle 3 to 4 day hikes per week if needed. I think, since you are a member of the 3 most active hiking sites in Arizona, we'll be able to keep you busy and maybe even make you want to move to Arizona!

IS THIS how I do it?
I just joined hikearizona and was browsing the entries. I saw Perth WA. Also twice a year to AZ
I am an OLD man that still hikes, also tripping off to Perth in May 07. In the meantime I am active in the north of northern AZ, ie Page, AZ and the AZ Strip. Current interest is validating the "Old Spanish Trail", plus Paria Plateau etc.
Are you still active (since 02 post?
Pete
