Monument Canyon/Plane Wreck/Flat Iron Loop Hike

Post by Peter_Medal »

6AM Launch from Mining Camp Restaurant, 2.5 miles to Monument Canyon, up to the plane wreckage site, up to the ridgeline, over to Flat Iron, down Siphon Draw and back to Mining Camp......some class 3 ...nothing that has not been done before...reviews of the many previous triplogs: estimating 9.5 mile loop with 3700' AEG. Should be lots of fun....brutal and punishing

will follow chunks of this route:

Your 2015 Hiero bushwhack loop still takes the prize for my toughest overall adventure/bushwhack… from the sounds of things, this one may just top it. 8)

Back in the game thanks to this - http://www.luckyvitamin.com/p-21860-doc ... ce#reviews. Maybe my fall last weekend was a blessing in disguise... I've never done a hike like the one I did today, sat down for a few hours, and got up with ZERO stiffness in my knee joints. Bad ankle is actually better than before I twisted it the first time back in Nov. Just amazing! :y:
