If anyone is interested in writing letters or getting involved let me know
Thanks
Here is a sample letter of what was sent out. If there is any further progress on restoring spring water in the Inner Basin would Friends of Rio De Flag be interested in helping?
Sample Letter sent to forestry dept, Flagstaff utilities and NAU
Thank you for taking the time to read this. Some in the outdoor recreation, wildlife preservation, and environmental preservation community have expressed interest and concern regarding the use of all the free flowing water within the Inner Basin of the San Francisco Peaks for the City of Flagstaff. While we understand the importance and low cost of clean water to the city there is a desire to allow some of the water to flow freely on the mountain to enhance plant growth, recreational opportunities as well as provide wildlife with cleaner more abundant drinking water than what is now available. It is our understanding that the water from the basin supplies possibly less than 20% of the cities water. We would be happy with even a small amount of water being returned to its natural environment. Some have suggested less than 5% of the 20%. I am interested in your perspective on the subject.
