all Sport Chalet stores are going out of business
Sport Chalet is going out of business everywhere. Their online store is already down, and there are 5 stores in the Phoenix area selling off what inventory they have for the next few weeks, FYI.

Was it the tough competition, California taxes or possible future State government required $15.00 minimum wages?

They shouldn't have taken it to the limit.

Re: all Sport Chalet stores are going out of business
I never paid full retail there, but depending on the location was almost always able to find hiking apparel heavily discounted on the closeout rack. Guess I will need to head out this week to see what bargains I can pick at. For a generic sporting goods store they had a decent selection of hiking, camping and climbing gear. Now I'm stuck with REI or Hiking Shack as my only options to see stuff in person.

A - None I can't think of...
B - Bass Pro
C - Cabela's
D - Dick's Sporting Goods
....
S - Sportsman's Warehouse
While they all may not have everything you want, I find good buys at both my favorites Sportsman's Warehouse and Bass Pro.
