The American judicial system has always struggled with environmental crimes. Idiots know that and do stupid stuff.

They'll get 100 hours of community service and probably a $1000.00 fine and be barred from state parks, tops. While life in prison is too much for this, LOL, a harsher outcome than that is warranted.
