Camping Spot near Woodbury TH??
Does anyone know of a good camping spot for 2 - 3 tents near the Woodbury TH? The camping spots at Rogers Trough TH were nasty with toilet paper and "such". Thanks.

I think you would be fine with staying at the Woodbury TH and your experience would be more pleasant than the one you had at Rogers. I have seen many camped there before a backpack, or big hike in the past, seems to be room and allowed.

Thank you. We've only just driven past the turnoff for the Woodbury TH so your advice is helpful.

Keep an eye out for signage on site. It is not uncommon for camping to be prohibited at trailheads -- probably for the very reason that you cited with Rogers Trough...too much use in one spot without proper facilities results in unpleasant surprises.
FWIW- I'm pretty sure there is a "no camping" sign posted at Rogers, though I'm sure it is often ignored.
I believe the traditionally accepted "buffer" is half a mile away!

I'm not sure what my spirit animal is, but I'm confident it has rabies.

@chumley
You are correct in that there is a "No Camping" sign at the Rogers Trough TH. I've spoke with a ranger about it and he said you just can't camp in the parking lot. Ditto for Woodbury TH.

I recommend you legally Camp Here--> https://hikearizona.com/map.php?QX=5890
(included is the driving route from Hwy 60 with Camping WP Location noted. The next morning It's only a short drive further up FR172 to the Woodbury TH to Park and begin your hike in)
