Hello All!
My friends and I are from Phoenix and will be hiking the AZT every other weekend. I'm mostly doing the organizing with friends on FB but HikeArizona expands the ease of logistics as more people join up on hikes. The tentative schedule is 20-30 miles every other weekend, heading North. We're responsible hikers and not planning on force-marching through but enjoying the walk. We welcome any that would like to join. We have beginners and long time hikers so anyone can fit in.
Schedule
January 27-29 – Passages 2 and 3 - 31.1 miles - Long Water carry. Cold. Possibly 2 dogs on this one depending on weather.
February 10-12 – Passage 4 – 22.3 miles. Uphill most of the way.
February 24-26 – Passages 5 and 6 – 26.8 miles.
Default transportation logistics are a vehicle at the start and end points of each weekend unless a shuttle is utilized or we have a base-camper to pick up and drop off. Dogs are welcome if they get along with other dogs (if in doubt we can arrange for a meet and greet with other dogs that are coming along).
