The Indian fig cactus is a shrubby or tree-like plant that can grow to be 12–16 feet (3.7–4.9 m) tall.
The cladodes are hairless and don't have spines on the areoles on their surfaces.
The cactus produces large purple fruit on each leaf.

Bottom photo is a prickly pear cactus ( Opuntia streptacantha ), a species of plant in the cactus family . It grows as a bush but reaches high altitudes, forming closed forests in several places. Its leaves are larger than those of the prickly pear cactus ( O. ficus-indica ).
