We were lucky to be hitting spring still in action. The Mesquites seemed particularly feathery light.
Mesquite trees are native to Texas and are a common sight, particularly in the southern and western parts of the state. The most common variety is the honey mesquite (Prosopis glandulosa var. glandulosa), which can be found in most regions of Texas except deep East Texas. Mesquite trees are known for their thorny branches, feathery leaves, and sweet, pea-like pods. They can grow as small shrubs or medium-sized trees, depending on growing conditions.
