The first part of Hamilton Crossing Trail #45 follows a road, FR9739K, which is an approved forest road on the 2015 Motor Vehicle Use Map. However I would recommend walking this section because it's a short pleasant walk on level ground to where the trail leaves this road and there are a few close encounters with tree limbs for vehicles larger than ATVs.
