My favorite! I would guess that this represents an Agave. Agaves were hugely important-- you wove with the fibres, roasted and ate the flower-stalks, ground the seeds for meal, boiled the flowers, drank a liquor from its heart that was delicious and sweet, made a sort of beer from it, and lastly could roast and eat the heart of the entire plant.
