This is Upper Waterton Lake (there are three). I think that is Olson Mountain on the left and Campbell is in front of us. Anyway, these lakes were first visited by a party from the British Palliser Expedition in 1858, led by Captain T. W. Blakiston. While encamped upon the shores of the lakes, Blakiston named them for Charles Waterton, an eminent English naturalist.
