Satisfying my curiosity on when the clearing of Buckaroo flats was started. The top 6/5/2012 GE image shows the flats when the clearing first started. There is a small cleared area near photo center. The bottom 1/7/2014 image shows the results of clearing after the project evidently stopped. The dots scattered throughout the brown area are the piles of dead trees. Also of interest, we saw a yellow bulldozer parked near the intersection of FR236 and FR2738 and assumed it was being used to create the piles of dead trees. Looking at a sequence of GE images revealed that it had been parked in the same spot since the 1/7/2014 image. Could it have been abandoned when the clearing project was stopped ?
