Parked on FR2738 near the start of the off-trail hike to the viewpoint. Note the gray dead piles of trees and brush beyond the fence. Buckaroo Flats is dotted with these piles from a tree clearing effort by the Forest Service to open up more grazing land. Normally the piles of dead wood are burned after clearing but evidently this project was stopped before reaching that stage.
