I use notebooks to write down my favorite photo numbers etc (see last photo) and I was using an old notebook (I've had many notebooks through the decades). I stumbled across these pages that had numbers which are from the mid-80s. What are they you ask? This is how we used to have to keep track of prices/money before computers.

It used to be that when I would see license plates I would look at the alphabet part as commodity symbols. For example, if your license plate had SN on it, that was July Soybeans or SIU was November Silver or PBG was February Pork Bellies. I don't hardly do that anymore.

It looks like it was a mixed bag as to money made and lost with gold being the big winner and Swiss Franc the loser for that period of time.
