The rock structures in Joshua Tree National Park are quite unusual and captivating. The rocks are made up of a combination of various minerals, such as granite, quartz monzonite, and gneiss. This combination of minerals creates a unique pattern of shapes, sizes, and colors. In addition, many of the rocks have been naturally weathered, creating fascinating formations that are unique to the area. Some of the most unusual formations include the so-called “tortoiseshell rocks,” which are rounded and pitted, as well as the “fairy castle rocks,” which look like miniature castles.
